The Center for Gynecologic Oncology is a private medical practice with four locations in South Florida, offering the most professional diagnostic and comprehensive treatment in gynecology, gynecologic oncology and urogynecology for women.
We offer the professional services of an academic practice with the conveniences of a private practice and keep up-to-date with continuing education, research, training others and conferences.
Our physicians, Emery M. Salom, MD, Jacob Tangir, MD and Jonathan Black, MD, MPH are board certified and exceptionally well-trained, placing them among the most trusted doctors to diagnose and treat reproductive conditions.

Physicians
Our team of doctors at the Center for Gynecologic Oncology, Emery M. Salom, MD, Jacob Tangir, MD and Jonathan Black, MD, MPH, have decades of collective experience, in-depth training, and are board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, urogynecology, as well as gynecologic oncology.
They specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of disorders including: gynecologic cancers (ovarian, uterine, vulva and cervical cancer) abnormal pap smear, ovarian cyst, pelvic mass, pelvic prolapse, fibroids and urinary incontinence as well as Sexuality, Intimacy, and Menopausal Symptoms (SIMS), and cancer genetics. Our surgeons are experts in complex laparoscopic and robotic approaches, fertility-sparing surgery, and risk reduction procedures for inherited cancer syndromes and their skills complement and supplement one another.
But most of all, they put patients first, treating them with respect and compassion, going above and beyond to make caring integral to the patient experience and maximizing treatment success.
Emery Salom, MD
Born and raised in Miami, Dr. Salom earned his medical degree at The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine as part of a seven-year joint college-medical school program. He also completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology and his fellowship in gynecologic oncology at The University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital and Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Jacob Tangir, MD
Dr. Jacob Tangir is a Board-Certified Gynecologist Oncologist. He earned his medical degree from the Universidad Central de Venezuela. He completed both his residency in obstetrics and gynecology and his fellowship in gynecologic oncology at Yale University School of Medicine/Yale New Haven Hospital.
Jonathan Black, MD
Dr. Jonathan D. Black is a Board-Certified Gynecologic Oncologist. He earned his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine where he also earned a Master of Science in Public Health (MPH). Dr. Black completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology and fellowship in gynecologic oncology at Yale School of Medicine/Yale New Haven Hospital.
